Conjoined Twins

Syd and Lexi were conjoined twins attached at the spine. Neurosurgeon Dr. Michael Handler of The Children's Hospital ordered models to plan the separation of Syd and Lexi. The team of twenty plus doctors and nurses used the models to strategize the details of the separation. The models were used as a reference throughout the long separation surgery. Five months after the surgery the girls celebrated their first birthday and took their first steps.
